Wheee! The Rushiversary is over! What a round!!

Post here and brag about what you accomplished this weekend! (Note for newcomers: you can post wordcounts, what fics you worked on/posted/etc., progress in general. Please don’t post excerpts. Feel free to boast about editing, beta work, vids, etc., as well as writing.)

My wordcount wasn't madly high, but it never is.

I started, finished, polished and sent off the almost-overdue Alphabet Soup ficlet, which gets posted tomorrow. I poked at my main project a bit, and did a post on my journal to call for help on a topic wherein I lack expertise, and I've already gotten a lot of wonderful feedback.

I also got a dozen LOLs made, which is very good, because my cache was nearly empty!

ETA: And I finally delivered a horribly overdue beta project.

I'm going to dive back in over at Hour 43 in a sec, but I wanted to add up my stats here first:

1,927 words, one ficlet completed, 2 Five Things completed, progress on a really old WIP, progress on a WIP that I really, really wish I'd left notes on instead of just ending it abruptly (but I think I'm back on track with it now finished it!), and a continuation posted to a fic tree! W00t!

It was great seeing so many new faces this round! :-D

Ok, here we go...so yesterday I focused entirely on my HetBB and got down 5k of that. Today I started with that again but got restless so I procrastinated and picked at other things, I got a square done at hc_bingo and a weekly fic at another comm done. Then this evening I returned to my HetBB and with the reclaimed hour, I managed to hit 5k (or there abouts) again.

So my total wordcount for this weekend has to fall somewhere in the ball park of 11k, which has to be a record for me.

I can't wait for the next one!

(Now I'm really going to bed, I have to be up in 5 hours D:)

I'm sorry I missed it. My big creative endeavour this weekend was appearing in Chicago, which pretty much ate my weekend. The closest I got to writing something was adding a couple of paragraphs to my notes on the production-bunny.

(A production-bunny is like a plot-bunny, but instead of a plot that wants you to write it, it's a production that wants you to direct it. In this case, I keep getting ideas about how I would stage things if I were ever to direct a production of Chicago myself. Which is never going to happen, for several reasons, but I'm writing them down anyway in case they're ever useful for something.)

Ha, I do that too! And if I'm watching a favorite show -- Pirates of Penzance, for example -- I get really irritated if there's a joke that I know is very funny if delivered in a certain way, but got "lost" because of the direction.

Wow, this is kind of awesome and seriously, where *have* you been all my life, group writing marathon?

Kind of piss-poor numbers (1826) for two projects (hetbigbang and smallfandomfest, but in the same fandom, Once Upon A Time), but I decided a few things about the hetbigbang (scrapped a plot point, wrote myself into a hole that I can't wait to get out of, figured out 2 or 3 new plot points and wrote 2 scenes I'd been putting off specifically) and have a handle on it, hopefully with some steam built up. The smallfandomfest, alas, may have to be scrapped. I'm at 894 and just can't find those 106 words without changing the style and pacing (of course, I found 134 of those words today, so who knows what tomorrow will bring?).

I did nothing on the other 2 smallfandomfests. No, wait, that's a lie. One is for Foyle's War and I've had it on all weekend while doing Other Things. Research! I keep getting ideas for the other, but keep scrapping them for being ridiculous...

Anyway, thanks again for all your hard work and making me feel so welcome! I enjoyed the 40-some-odd hours of lurking as much as the few hours writing and redirecting. I will definitely be back!

I might manage 500 words on a good day -- I figure that as long as I can do that regularly, I'll get somewhere in the end. It works for me.

Yeah, I would love to have a regular output. But it's all in spurts, which makes editing and revision really painful, which is why I usually stick to shorter stuff and generally don't pay attention to my word output in the first place. I had thought I'd be able to stretch to the bigbang, but it looks like I'll have to stick to the littlebang option, as I'm not even to 5000 yet, so 10000 will be an exercise enough! The great thing is that I am learning a lot (and not just 'I should stick with drabbles and shorts') and having loads of fun; if I could just stop getting stuck!

Well, all things considered, I'm pleased. I got some crit I needed to wrap up wrapped up and sent off, I got a start on re-arranging the POV of a short story to give it to a much more challenging character, and I accidentally a drabble. (http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/i-accidentally)

It was great fun blathering to everybody and my fellow HetBigBangers!

I'm pretty pleased with myself, worked on my epic Nikita fic and got a total of 1240 words written (all of it Michael/Alex belligerent sexual tension, btw), bringing my total word count to a little over 5k! It's not even CLOSE to the needed 25k, but hey, it's better than what I usually do!

I couldn't get in to comment for a while. I did a bunch of research on the Avengers characters for the last several hours and wrote 2860 words for Fic Rush this time around. Not that great a word count, but I had other obligations on Saturday.

I'm halfway to completing my Sentinel minibang.

Thanks so much for welcoming all of us Hetbangers!!! I ended up missing almost all of the last 24 hours as my parents came through town and my dad ended up staying the night which pretty much killed my writing time.

BUT! I still managed to write 1900 words and reached the 3k end of the section I wanted to wrap up for my hetbang. It's progress at least and it's better than I'd managed prior to that!

And as cannot be undervalued - I discovered and/or converted several new Jeremy Renner fans with my hourly picspams. I consider that a win!!

I don't think I wrote anything fiction-ish. I chatted a lot with a friend, wrote a couple of LJ posts, read a lot, and - right near the end of the round - came up with a direction for a story that's been stalled unstarted for over a year now. GO ME. I think I'm going to make July a $nowrimo and work on it. :D
