Round 4 Reminder

Round 4 starts just under a week from right now. It goes midnight to midnight GMT January 9th and 10th. Make your plans and tell all your friends.

Could use a volunteer to make the hourly posts while I'm asleep, if any of you are sure you'll be around lots next weekend.

I've gotten permission to advertise fic_rush in yuletide_nudge, a writing support community for the Yuletide multifandom fic exchange. Is there anything in particular you want me to say? I was thinking of just describing what it is, saying round 4 is this weekend and then linking to the FAQ, but let me know if you have any text you would like me to use, or if you would prefer to make the post yourself (I'm sure that would be okay). One thing -- Yuletide fandoms include RPF, and I'm a little confused about the official stance about RPF for this community. Should I say RPF is discouraged, not allowed, okay as long as you don't advertise that's what you're writing . . . ? Just let me know what you would like.

I should take a look at that FAQ and maybe clean it up some. RPF is allowed. Creepy, but allowed.

Your ad sounds like it would be great the way you intend to post it. The only advice I have is that the first, most obvious link should be to the main comm or to the Round 4 announcement post, not the FAQ. (But you can still link the FAQ, too.) If you do Yuletide, then it's better that you post it, since I don't do Yuletide.

I've tried! But they already write a lot and don't feel the need to get communal support or dedicate a weekend to it. As for me, both the communal support and the setting aside of specific time to write is immensely helpful.

I'll advertise at mccoy_chapel tomorrow so it'll get picked up at trek_news which is fairly widely read in that fandom.

I'm uk based and I could do some hourly posts on sunday if that is helpful.
