Send Wedding Congratulations to Beth This Weekend!

Hello fic rushers! As you probably know, our Queen Mod Beth (lolmac) is getting married this Saturday, August 10th! So, since she was injudicious enough to grant me access to post to this community and to fic_rush_48, I thought I would take the chance to declare a special Wedding Congratulations weekend!

My thought is to open a post on Friday, August 9th on fic_rush_48, and link to it from this community. Then we can take the weekend to send congratulations there to Beth and her new wife. We will likely only need one post, but if we start to hit a comment limit, then I will open up a second post (or perhaps one of the other mods with posting access there will do it for me -- hint, hint).

What sort of congratulations should you send? Anything you like! A simple message, or a gif, or a short fic, or a link to something. If it's celebratory, then it's good!

Also, if for some reason you can't post this weekend but want to send congratulations later, that is perfectly acceptable. There's no 48-hour time limit on this "round"!

Basically, I just want Beth to know that the fic_rush community is thinking about her this weekend, and sending congratulations. Also, if anyone has any other / better ideas for how to virtually celebrate this wedding weekend, feel free to say so in the comments here.

It sounds like a lovely idea! (And I have a feeling the comment limit is pretty high - I vaguely thought it was 1000 comments - so I should think we'll be okay.)

We could bring glowsticks, or even have a tiny mini-round with 100% modly usurpation in her honour?

I think the limit might be 5000 comments -- this is a vague memory from that fannish auction I helped catalogue three years ago, I haven't double-checked it.

Either way, we should be good unless we try to hold an entire round in the comments of one post. ;-)

I actually have no idea what the comment limit is, can you tell? ; ) But yes, it sounds like we're probably covered.

I think congratulatory messages should definitely be written while wielding glowsticks. I think a mini-round would work better with some organization, but if you want to take it on, feel free!

Seriously, you folks . . . it's been crazier and more stressful than expected, and I'm only just now literally stealing time to take a running look through LJ again (after not having any time/energy for the last three days), and I find this gem here!!

Overall, things are actually going very well, minimal snafus and maximal Ducks Lining Up. I would like to observe that I really, really appreciate that most of my friends are adults, and that only a very small subset revert at really bad times.
