fic_rushThe comm has been imported, less the two posts just made about moving over here to DW. The 48 comm flooded me with messages about import failures, but it seems to have imported in spite of hiccups.
I have paid for this account, so we can have polls, because we MUST have polls.
I re-wrote the FAQ post and stickied it to this comm. Feel free to use that as a target link for pimpage.
People are beginning to join, including some new names amongst the old. On that line: hey, let's all say hi to each other! Please comment on this post, introduce yourself, maybe let us know some or all of the following:
- Where did you hear about us?
- Were you involved with this comm on LJ?
- Are you willing to be/interested in being part of the Mod Squad?
- What's your favourite unusual animal? (birds, fish, etc. equally acceptable)
- Are you now, or have you ever been, a penguin?
I'll do a poll for our inaugural DW round in the next few days, once we've had a chance to spread the word.

Are you willing to be/interested in being part of the Mod Squad? Probably not this year, since it'll be my first time participating, but maybe in the future.
What's your favourite unusual animal? (birds, fish, etc. equally acceptable) Otters and hedgehogs!
Are you now, or have you ever been, a penguin? This is a funny question to me, because while I understand that it is a long-running injoke with the comm, NaNoWriMo participants in my city (Austin, TX) are also referred to as "penguins." And I am one of those. ^_^v

Date: 2018-03-03 12:56 pm (UTC)Odd Coincidence Dept: one of the most loved members of the comm back on LJ was also named Sid. We lost her several years ago, and I still miss her.
The penguin joke is one of our longest-running bits of frivolity. I had never heard of NaNo participants using it. That's cool! Is it just Austin that does it?
