Round 13 Is Over!

And a splendid Lucky Round 13 was had by all!  The zombies mostly stayed away, the pirates had cameo roles, and the penguins had glowsticks.  We had fun.  Writing, editing, betaing, research, commentfic and posting happened.  Smut and romance blossomed.  Heroes got wet.  And everyone had silly hats who wanted them.

For those inclined to continue writing, Hour 41 is only nominally attached to linear time, and will remain available for anyone who wants to use it.  Also, Hour 45 is still feeling a little lonely.  Feel free to write some more and cheer it up.

Many many thanks again to the Mod Squad:

[livejournal.com profile] dbskyler , [livejournal.com profile] lullabymoon, [livejournal.com profile] glinda_penguin, [livejournal.com profile] isdon_isgood9, [livejournal.com profile] idlewild_, [livejournal.com profile] juliet316, and [livejournal.com profile] pitry .  This couldn't happen without you!

Now -- tell us how well you did.  Brag and preen.  And keep an eye on the comm for the announcement of Round 14!

I managed 200 words this last hour, despite being distracted, which brings my total to 350 words written and 5000 words betad.

Considering how woolybrained I've been this week, I'm more than willing to be happy with it.

And now I'm off to bed. Yay! for everyone who got stuff written though.

Wee! Aside from commentfic, I managed to revise an entire section of my novella, write an 800 word prose outline for a potential new original story, and apparently chunked in 1800 words on the MfU/DM (man not mouse) cross-over. All while battling the forces of J actually being home all weekend for a change, a hockey game on the tv, Saturday Workout Morning, and some kind of football thing I wasn't really watching (but was listening to.) (What run-on sentence problem? (What parenthesis problem?!))

DM as in John Drake? I would SO read that!

Yes, exactly. I'm doing my best to keep him in character, but I may need to re-research. Trying to balance out the camp of MfU with the realpolitik of DM.

Your level of production is almost intimidating, well done!

If being productive is going to make Sir Percy stare at me in that manner, next time I'll lie around bein' idle and thinkin' up vastly clever things to say!

Gad, sir! I wouldn't *dream* of interfering with your writing, what?

Perhaps you would prefer a ne'er-do-well such as Gilligan? ;-D

Ooh, congratulations! It can feel really satisfying to suddenly have a burst of inspiration for something that's been lying around that long (or longer, in my case! :P).

500 words transcribed, 300 actually written, and early notes from an orig!fic scrounged for review, yay me! :D

Around 6000 words on the Never Ending Doctor Who/ Harry Potter... thing. I am 6000 words closer to ending that thing, but since it's never ending, it doesn't feel like that big an achievement!

Nighty night folks!

Congratulations on adding to the Never Ending Thing! I have a fic like that too, so believe me when I tell you that 6000 words *is* a big achievement. :D

Well, I didn't keep track of the word count (silly me) but I think I've added about a page to one of my fics. Not too bad for an hour, considering the fact that fic_rush was this weekend completely slipped my mind.

1500 words and a full - fledged angst fic. Sadly it missed the deadline I was hoping for by seconds.

1 fic beta-read for [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook and 100 words of fic written. But, given my state of exhaustion, and the fact I was at work for 8 hours on Saturday, that's not as dire as I anticipated.

Hopefully the next round won't be for at least a couple of weeks, and I'll have recovered (somewhat) from working 53 hours a week for 7 weeks.

For someone in the middle of working like that, I'm amazed you got *anything* done, much less a beta AND fic! Nicely done, rest up well, as you assuredly deserve it.

Actually, I was surprised too.

But, it's over - the boss finally got back today (and I actually didn't kill him!) and I've got the rest of this week and next week off work...

Well... I wrote down 50 words that were in my head anyway. But that was a whole story, kind of!

And I lost my hat, which was slightly silly but kept my head warm - but that wasn't [livejournal.com profile] fic_rush's fault

I seem to have ended up with only 5 drabbles to show for public consumption, but I've plenty of half-legible scribbling in my notebook I was toting around with me to keep me going for a while yet. Always more fun to get the ball rolling again in good company, thanks!
