Since I write mostly The Sentinel, I also post at the big fandom archive, 852 Prospect.

I post / archive:

* on my LJ first, usually
* on [livejournal.com profile] dw_straybunnies first if it's for one of their challenges
* the good stuff eventually goes on AO3
* the Whofic eventually goes on Teaspoon

(Those last two categories don't always overlap. *g*)

I used to archive at FFnet, but I don't any more, so I didn't tick the box.

I'm a Sentinel writer, too, and besides AO3, my Lj and a LJ Sentinel writing comm, [livejournal.com profile] sentinel_thurs,FF.Net, Dw(all right, I'm way behind in posting fic there, but I'm gonna catch up someday, as God is my witness ::shakes handful of dirt from the ground in Scarlet O'Hara fashion:: )

Where was I?

Oh, yes. I also post it at 852 Prospect sometimes(the coding is a tad difficult to do), and at Artifact Storage Room 3, another Sentinel archive.

The location where I post my fic depends mostly on what type of fic it is. Almost everything gets posted to my LJ account, and since I got a DW account, I normally crosspost there. If the subject matter is of interest to a particular LJ and/or DW community, I might post a link to it. If it's a Doctor Who fanfic (which most of mine are), I usually also post it to Teaspoon. My Yuletide fic is on AO3, and I keep thinking about putting some of my other fic there, but I haven't yet.

FYI, I stay completely away from fanfic.net. I don't post there, and I don't even read fic there as I hate the interface.

While I haven't officially participate in a Fic Rush yet, I can't resist this poll. :) Hope this is okay.

I post my stuff in all kinds of places, although I have to say that I don't think it's very useful. I do it just because I guess. Anyway, here's a list of places where I post my fic:

  1. LiveJournal

  2. Dreamwidth

  3. AO3

  4. Fanfiction.net

  5. InsaneJournal (http://traycer.insanejournal.com/) - an archive of all the fic I have in my LJ/DW accounts, sort of a mirror journal for fic only.

  6. A few LJ comms that require the fic to be posted there due to a challenge. This is rare. I prefer to post a link to my LJ if at all possible.

(Just as an aside, I do post those links to various fanfic archives on LJ. Don't know if it helps, but it's almost like advertising, so I go for it. )

I've never heard of Teaspoon. Is that a social media site? Or just an archive, like ff.net?

'Teaspoon' (or more properly A Teaspoon and an Open Mind) is the fic archive for Doctor Who fic of all eras. It does sound very strange when just referred to offhand like that, but those of us in DW fandom will keep doing it! :-) (It's from a Fourth Doctor quote: "Oh, I had a few things he didn't, like a teaspoon and an open mind.")

So you wouldn't use it unless you wrote any sort of DW stuff.

Well that explains why I've never heard of it. :) Thanks for explaining it to me!!

I post all my fic on my LJ. Doctor Who fic gets archived at Teaspoon, everything else gets archived at A03.

I used to post things places, but now I just inscribe them straight onto penguin feathers, yes.

It's usually Teaspoon for everything DW-related; and now AO3 for everything else. I do kind of have an LJ comm where I put things, but I'm erratic about posting fic to my LJ - usually just links to where the story is. (I don't really like reading anything other than very short fics on LJ.)

I did try using ff.net - I put three non-DW stories on it, but while it did get them some reviews, it was so fiddly to use, and then when I came back to it months/years later, it had eaten all my scene breaks. So I just gave up with Other Archives That Aren't Teaspoon until I joined AO3 and I've found that easy to use, with nice and handy features.

I post in the various fic comms, like [livejournal.com profile] tron_genfic and [livejournal.com profile] dresdenfic, but it's always a link back to my journal. ff.net keeps messing up my formatting, so I've been considering making the hop to AO3, but haven't got around to it yet.

Not an official participant either, but couldn't resist the poll :) Hope it's okay. Haven't written much and not recently, but I did/do:

- my creative LJ comm
- my DW
- fanfiction.net

and

On another archive site that I'll identify in the comments:
http://fanfiction.oded-fehr.net
http://www.adultfanfiction.net

On my own fic website, other than LJ or DW, which I'll identify in the comments:
http://dreams.crystalfires.net - it's not a fic website, but my creative one. Gets all creative stuff I do, whether fic or wallpapers or icons or whatever. It's also the main site for all of that; posting to other archives and LJ/DW etc. comes second.

Whether the fic gets posted to other LJ and/or DW communities, depends on whether there's (an active) one for the subject.

Doctor Who goes to Teaspoon, crossovers get both Teaspoon and AO3. I'm not writing Doctor Who now, though, so I'll probably post a bit to ff.net as well.

When I manage to produce something Highlander related I post to the HL Fiction archive. If Stargate: Atlantis makes it out I post to Wraitbait. I don't post to the main SG-1 archives because I have issues with how they split things up. And the Teaspoon for Doctor Who, of course.

I post to my LJ/Dth and I post to the appropriate comms for the fandom. And drop links at the appropriate newsletters. People follow the things for a reason afterall. I tend to post directly to comms for a variety of reasons.

I have a bunch of stuff up at FF.N, but I've stopped using it completely. I rather hate the uploading interface, but that's really all that's keeping me from using it.
