Round 24 is over!

This was the Round with the Misplaced Mods; possibly the cookies were to blame, or the UnWriterly pasta, or the eggnog and hot chocolate and tea and coffee, which did not quite reach the point of an Epic Battle for Dominance.

Nonetheless, many many words were written and edited and beta'd, and some were even posted!  Inspiration struck some and pulled a hit-and-run from others.  Scenes were blocked, and in some cases, writers were unblocked.  Plots were outlined.  Plots were plotted.

How did you do?  Tell us all about it!

Please take a moment to thank the Mod Squad, especially [livejournal.com profile] lullabymoon, who stepped in and covered an extra, very long shift, rather later than the last minute. We all did a lot of pass-the-baton modding, in fact, and I'm even happier than usual about what a terrific job everyone does. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] pitry, [livejournal.com profile] isdon_isgood9, [livejournal.com profile] chibifukurou and [livejournal.com profile] lothithil, and a particular thanks and welcome to [livejournal.com profile] welfycat, the newest Baby Mod of our Band!

Please keep an eye on the comm, and watch for the January poll.  And have a good round of any holidays you care to celebrate!  Especially International Penguin Day!

Oy. I didn't do as much as I wanted to. :( Christmas stuff had to be done, too.

One 500 word drabble for [livejournal.com profile] ts_secret_santa

1023 words of a story outline(mostly finished now) for a future TS/Doll House crossover.

Hopefully in January I will have more time.

I had a really good weekend for a change - 3000 words added to my yuletide draft and a chapter betad as well as some brainstorming.

I'm just a bit annoyed that I didn't get my rough draft finished like I wanted to. :( Meh but I'm taking my victories where I can.

And now, bed. I'll catch up with everyone else in the morning.

I wrote about 2,000 more words on my 100k Supernova, and baked ~70 cookies. I 've had some new ideas for my Supernova, that I'm very excited to work on over the holidays.

I love hanging out and helping mod here and talking to all of you!

Happy holidays and Merry International Penguin Day!

Thank YOU for letting me mod! It's been such a great experience.

And Yay Progress!

I wrote 655 words on two different fics! Hooray!

Thanks so much to the Mod Squad! I'm looking forward to rejoining your ranks next time. :D

I'm on it! (Look, there was an exclamation point right there! And another one! *g*)

And yes, hopefully I can both write and mod next time. I usually can get some writing in during a round, but lately I've been in a huge, huge writing slump. I think this fic_rush round really helped, though!

You guys are amazing. Thanks so much for running this comm; it makes me feel connected to other writers.

Thank you to all the mods, and of course to Beth! You're all entirely fabulous. \o/

I didn't get off to a good start, but I ended up writing and posting seven commentfic and starting a new scene for a WIP. 3,322 words for the rush!

Time now for a drink and some catching up around the 'net. Including pimping my shiny new words, of course! :-)

And a third of those words are Denny Crane on the bridge of the Enterprise. *shakes head in disbelief*

I've had the prompt bookmarked for ages. Hard to believe no one else snapped it up first. *g*

All you need to know about Boston Legal for the purposes of this fic is that Denny suffers from Alzheimer's, which he started calling mad cow disease long before he was diagnosed. And he married Daniel Jackson James Spader his boyfriend Alan Shore so that Alan would have all the necessary legal rights to take care of him and could inherit tax-free. I may have squeed when that happened.

Woo! That's great! Sometimes the tales that go slow are that way for a reason, or so I've discovered.

Thank you, this was fun and I'll definitely be back if time permits it! Yay next round! :D

Two 500-word Five Things fics told in drabbles!
And 4218 words of miscellaneous chapter-finishing, plotting, and editing, plus 7 liters of tea drunk and two stories beta'd.

Pleasing. ^^

Thank you Beth, thank you Mods! A great weekend. I couldn't be around for all of it but I enjoyed what I was here for and as usual got great encouragement. I got 1900 words of brand new story started, and posted something that had been languishing waiting for me to declare it done.

Hopefully for January I'll be back in full swing.

I'm pretty happy with it. Next scene up involves the point-of-view character being oblivious to the fact that her two friends are not just getting along well, they're actually flirting. So... I still need some mulling time to write it subtly enough to be obvious to the audience but not the protagonist. Fortunately, buses and showers are made for mulling.

200 words transcribed from the back of a grading rubric, 600 new ones written, 500 approved by beta, and 13,000 betaed for somebody else! XD Not bad work, me. ;-)

(Also I thought of one old WIP that I'm going to dig out and see if it'll fit a particular person's Yuletide prompt, because somewhere in the time when I hadn't any energy to write, I did the "research"/research that had it stalled. So. *happy grin*)

Wow, nicely done - I especially like it when writing is saved from the backs of scraps of paper, that's the spirit!

I had to give up this time, but I seem to eternally have hope of some future weekend in the hazy yet-to-be - as One said so well, "I'll be back, yes, I'll be back..."
