Round 35

As you may have guessed from my failure to announce it any earlier (also, from the poll), Round 35 will be next weekend -- Thanksgiving weekend in the US.  As usual, it's a great weekend for some and a terrible one for others.

At present, the following mods have indicated that they can be there: welfycat, glinda_penguin, lost_spook, lullabymoon, isdon_isgood9, agirlnamedtruth, and lothithil.  pitry and dbskyler have indicated that they can't mod, and we will miss them!  idlewild_ and chibifukurou, I don't have a clear indication from either of you.  Can you let me know?

In addition:  it's a long holiday weekend for most of us in the US.  Also, it's NaNoWhatever month, and quite late in the month.  Is there any interest in starting the round earlier in the weekend?  If so, weigh in in the commetns!  When would you like to start if you were Queen Mod of Mods, and are you able to mod during any part of that extra time?

Okay, so here's what's going on with me. My sister was supposed to sign for her house today. As far as I'm aware, that hasn't happened yet and possibly won't until Monday. Which means we could be moving her in over Thanksgiving weekend, possibly. I don't even know. So, I will likely be fine to mod my regular on Friday - as for Sunday morning, I'm honestly not sure. I will keep you updated as my family updates me.

As long as you can do Friday, that will be great! So far, there have been no takers on an early start.

If you do end up unavailable on Friday, it can be covered -- I've ended up with far better coverage than I thought we'd have, and am vry happy.

ETA: Best of luck for your sister! Real estate transactions are insanely maddening. I've been there.

I am hopeful about Friday. I'm mostly imagining everyone here is going to be too tired to move at that point. It looks like their closing has been pushed back again until Tuesday, so I should know more by Tuesday night (I hope!). We're all crossing our fingers. My sister and her husband moved back in with us (my parents, me and my brothers) last year with the idea that they'd be moving out within 2 months. It's been a year and a half now, lol. And yes, the real estate stuff is insane! I don't know how people do it!

As for an early start, I think it's a great idea, but I'm not sure when I'll be around. Hopefully I will be!

As my weekend currently stands I can do my usual stint of 11am-2am GMT either day and I'm also free on the Friday, same hours.

Personally I've just got out of a writing slump and want to make the most of it so I'm up for extra writing time and I'm up for doing more than one mod shift if you find yourself short of mods due to Thanksgiving (benefit of being British, our turkeys run free til Christmas).

going to be out of town all week. I'll be back on Saturday after Thanksgiving, so maybe I can get some writing in Saturday night and Sunday.

Currently I have no plans for Thursday, will be driving to Indiana Friday, doing family Thanksgiving on Saturday, probably staying there Sunday and driving back Monday. I'll have my netbook with me, and presumably will have some free time, but I've never tried actually writing for any length of time on the little chiclet keyboard. :-/

Oh yes, this one is an absolute delight, and a true renaissance southern gentlewoman, adept in all the fiber arts and more than willing to be a bad influence on me. So. Much preferable to the last one, although still a major, charming, distraction from writing.

I'm still avaliable to mod and able to pick up extra shifts if needed cause Australia doesn't celebrate thanksgiving. However I have no real opinion on whether to start fic rushing earlier. Depending on how many hours you extend it I'll either be just waking up or asleep so it doesn't really bother me :D

But yes, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be taken up with Family Obligations. But hopefully I'll be able to still drop in for an hour or two here and there, at least to say "hi."

I'll be free next weekend. I don't know if I'll be called in to work during the day of Saturday, but I know I'm working through Friday, so if we start early I won't only be able to take any daytime shifts.

There hasn't been any actual call for a Friday start yet, so I don't know if we'll try to do it.

If we started early on friday, I might be able to pop in for an hour or two but I couldn't mod.

For my sunday shift, would it be possible to shift back an hour, ie from 9am GMT to 10am GMT start? I can do the extra hour at the end of the shift.

The time shift should be doable as long as Don can cover that hour.

It looks as if I'll be able to put together coverage for a fair amount of Friday (yay mod team!!); I mostly need to find out how early people will actually want to start.

Replying late, but I'm all for starting as early as possible -- some Thursday fic-rushing would be awesome!
