Master Modding Questions: Annual Update
Tue, Mar. 4th, 2014 10:11 pmThe time has come, the Walrus said, to talk of modding schedules. Specifically, it's time for me to update the Master Modding Schedule and ask you talk of many things involving time zones and availability.
If you are a mod, or have modded, or would like to mod, or just want to be well-modulated, please comment on this post and answer the following questions. Please give answers in your own time zone, or in GMT -- and tell me which you're using. Please ignore everyone else's schedule at this time: this is all about YOU. Because we're all special snowflakes. Except for Fred, who is a special hailstone.
Please reply even if you've told me this information before and nothing has changed. If I don't hear from you at all, I will take that to mean that you are no longer interested in modding and I'll cry. If you can't commit to a regular mod shift, but are interested in/willing to do occasional Stunt Mod shifts, please say so, but also answer the questions.
If you have never modded at all, or you've been an Emergency Stunt Mod, or a member of the Fic Rush Highly Irregulars, or a Master Usurper, or you modded in the past and took a break and would like to mod again, this is your chance! Crack a glowstick! Set off fireworks!
1. Out of our usual 48 hours, what hours are you NOT EVER available to mod? (Due to sleeping, regular commitments, etc.)
2. Out of our usual 48 hours, what hours are the VERY VERY BEST for you to mod?
3. There is no number 3.
4. If your schedule is in mad flux, but you're interested anyway, what's your best guess?
5. Are you more comfortable with having a set, regular shift that's pretty much the same each weekend, or would you prefer a variable shift, or are you only interested in (or able to commit to) providing occasional emergencyusurpation coverage?
6. Is there a minimum or maximum amount of time that you're comfortable modding?
7. Are you willing to mod for more than one shift in a 'Rush weekend? If so, can you do it regularly, occasionally, or onlywhen suitably bribed in emergencies?
8. Is there anything else I should know about your life that has bearing on this? (for example: you're a student and your schedule goes through periodic reshuffling; you work on alternate weekends; you're moving to Antarctica and starting a new job on the night shift; you're getting married/having a baby/finding a cure for cancer/marrying a Cancer; you're a clone and can mod twice at the same time, unless you get into a fight with yourself)
9. VERY IMPORTANT: What time zone are you in?
- For extra credit, use 'walrus' in a sentence. Creativity counts.

Date: 2014-03-07 08:38 am (UTC)I supposed between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. PST. I'm, er, a late sleeper. Also, lazy.
2. Out of our usual 48 hours, what hours are the VERY VERY BEST for you to mod?
I'm good with the hours I have ie 10-1 PST, but TBH... the perfectest time would be later. After 3 pm for sure, or even evening/night time PST, like, starting at 8 pm, that's actually the time I'm very likely to be around. Morning I sometimes have things, as you've noticed. Unless you're a walrus, in which case I assume you wouldn't. Cos they tend not to.
3. There is no number 3.
You bet there is!
4. If your schedule is in mad flux, but you're interested anyway, what's your best guess?
Number 3? My best bet is after 8 pm, like I very eloquently said above.
5. Are you more comfortable with having a set, regular shift that's pretty much the same each weekend, or would you prefer a variable shift, or are you only interested in (or able to commit to) providing occasional emergency usurpation coverage?
See, it's getting kinda hard to answer these questions. I'm going to assume you're not a walrus after all so you've noticed how many shifts I've missed/ had to bail out at the last minute/ just disappeared lately. I'd like to say I'm still as reliable as ever, but then I'd have to assume you are a walrus. Are you?
6. Is there a minimum or maximum amount of time that you're comfortable modding?
Nah, as long as I'm around I'm good.
7. Are you willing to mod for more than one shift in a 'Rush weekend? If so, can you do it regularly, occasionally, or only when suitably bribed in emergencies?
Yup. And assuming I'm here I don;t mind it regularly.
I am a student and my schedule is going through periodic reshuffling plus research trips plus horrific deadlines deadlinining, er, looming ahead. I'm also likely to disappear if I need to hide from lurking giraffes.
9. VERY IMPORTANT: What time zone are you in?
Pacific Standard Time! Also known as 'waaaay behind the rest of the world that's on a decent time, ie on the plus side of GMT'.

Do I get extra extra credit cos I managed to turn it into a repeated gag?

Date: 2014-03-08 03:19 am (UTC)ETA: would evening work if it were Friday evening -- say, from 8 pm Friday to 10 or 11 pm? Or is it only feasible on Saturday evening?
