Fic Rush: the two-day ficathon

This is the annual update, even though it's been about a year and a half since the last time I did it. I'm not sure what planet I must be on, but obviously it has a different length of year.

If you are a mod, or have modded, or would like to mod, or just want to be well-modulated, please comment on this post and answer the following questions. Please give answers in your own time zone, or in GMT -- and tell me which you're using. Please ignore everyone else's schedule at this time: this is all about YOU. Because we're all special snowflakes. Except for Fred, who is a special hailstone.

Please reply even if you've told me this information before and nothing has changed. If I don't hear from you at all, I will take that to mean that you are no longer interested in modding and I'll cry. If you can't commit to a regular mod shift, but are interested in/willing to do occasional Stunt Mod shifts, please say so, but also answer the questions.

If you have never modded at all, or you've been an Emergency Stunt Mod, or a member of the Fic Rush Highly Irregulars, or a Master Usurper, or you modded in the past and took a break and would like to mod again, this is your chance! Crack a glowstick! Set off fireworks!  Dress up as a ninja!  Remember, mods get fame glory fat wads of cash Pretentious Titles!

So, this is not actually a poll to choose dates for an August round, not yet.

Over the last several months, I think a lot of us have been distracted, or having Stuff happen, or being tired or burned out.  LJ is less active than it was some years ago, which of course also factors in; but, for all the many reasons, the last several rounds have tended to be on the quiet side.

However, I don't want to give up and stop doing rounds, even though I've been slacking a lot myself.

So:  let's have some more polls!  (Almost as good as penguins.)  What do you think of holding rounds on alternate months?  A terrible idea?  A good idea?  Worth trying for a bit?

If we go to alternate months, we would skip August and do a round in September, then skip October and do a round in November (for NaNo, as well as for Non-NaNo).  We can then decide if we like that schedule, or if we're feeling more inklish and writerly and need our penguin fixes.

This poll is not a ticky box poll, because you're actually going to have to choose just one option.  However, I have made sure there are ticky boxes anyway, because ticky boxes are Important.

Who's available?

Good job making it through the round!  It was a very distracted round, with a lot of rainbow-chasing.  I understand at least some rainbows were successfuly caught, although this might be a rumour.

So how did you do?  We had some lovely new faces, the return of some old friends, and writing happening in amongst the rainbows.  Tell us all!

Mods, please confirm your availability?  xandromedovna and idlewild_, you've already told me and we're good (and you're great!)!

Tell us all what you accomplished this round!  If possible, tell the truth, although if you tell a whopper, at least make it an interesting one and include one or more explosions.

As always, please take a moment to thank the Mod Squad.  In spite of being short-handed, we actually got through the entire round without losing a single hour!  In addition to our stalwarts dbskyler, a_phoenixdragon, juliet316, xandromedovna, lothithil, idlewild_, and myself, lolmac, we had a Special Guest Appearance by lost_spook, the thrilling debut performance of ylla, and an extra-special unannounced guest appearance of our very own founder, studyofrunning.

Many many thanks to all, but especially to ylla, who covered the largest stretches of both Holes in Tyme, in her very first appearance as an Emergency Stunt Mod. She and lost_spook handled the really difficult hours when there often isn’t anyone commenting. Cheers and kudos!!
