Date: 2012-12-11 06:15 am (UTC)ETA: I'm not available to mod. As Beth knows, but ftr. The entirety of that weekend has a large RL-in-gargoyle-form sitting on it and getting ready to eat me. ;-)

Date: 2012-12-11 11:05 am (UTC)ETA: Pfft, I can't find it. I must have deleted it. It was supposed to be all these different historico-political figures' reactions to the "Why did the chicken cross the road?" joke. It was really funny, too. :P

It gets tweaked at irregular intervals, of course, by people with varying degrees of actual wit. You can usually get the equivalent of a datestamp based on the year Bill Gates gives for his announcement of eChicken (I've seen it ranging from 1998 to 2011). The Martin Luther King quote has proved to have much better 'legs' than the others -- not surprisingly.
This one is mostly rehash, but then it adds a lovely set of extra scientists to the end:

AUGUST MOBIUS: To get to the same side.
ISAAC NEWTON: Chickens at rest tend to stay at rest. Chickens in motion tend to cross the road.
WERNER HEISENBERG: We are not sure which side of the road the chicken was on, but it was moving very fast.
JANOS von NEUMANN: The chicken is distributed probabilistically on all sides of the road until you observe it on your side.
C PROGRAMMER: cross_road() was called from get_other_side()
C++ PROGRAMMER: chicken->CrossRoad() was called from chicken->GetOtherSide()
