Speaking of modding . . .
Tue, Dec. 11th, 2012 05:30 pmIt's time, based on my entirely obscure Gaxian almanac, for me to update the Master Modding Schedule and ask Many Nosy Questions about time zones and availability.
If you are a mod, or have modded, or would like to mod, or believe it's a mod mod mod mod world, please answer the following questions. You can give answers in your own time zone, or in GMT -- just tell me which you're using. Please ignore everyone else's schedule at this time: this is all about YOU.
Also, even if you've told me this information before, please reply. If I don't hear from you at all, I will probably assume you are no longer interested in modding.
- Out of our usual 48 hours, what hours are you NOT EVER available to mod? (Due to sleeping, regular commitments, etc.)
- Out of our usual 48 hours, what hours are the VERY VERY BEST for you to mod?
- If your schedule is in mad flux, but you're interested anyway, what's your best guess?
- Are you more comfortable with having a set, regular shift that's pretty much the same each weekend, or are you happier with a variable shift, or are you only interested in (or able to commit to) providing occasional emergency coverage?
- Is there a minimum or maximum amount of time that you're comfortable modding?
- Is there anything else I should know about your life that has bearing on this? (for example: you're a student and your schedule goes through periodic reshuffling; you're about to move to Australia and start a new job on the night shift; you're an alien with three months left of your holiday here, after which there will be a serious time lag on your internet connection due to relativistic time compression)
- For extra credit, use 'penguin' in a sentence. Creativity counts.

Date: 2012-12-12 05:43 am (UTC)Hours I am not ever available to mod: Between midnight and 10 a.m. (sleep!) Also, as a temporary situation that doesn't apply to this weekend but will apply to every weekend in January, I am not available until after 4 p.m. on Saturdays. But then I will be back to my usual madcap penguin availability in February.
Best hours to mod: Every weekend seems to be a little different, but in general, all penguins being equal, I like modding Saturday afternoons the best.
Regular vs. variable shift: My weekends always seem to change anyway, so I get a variable shift by default, but that's fine. I don't give much of a penguin about it either way.
Minimum or maximum time: I kind of like the shorter shifts (3-4 hours) but I know you usually need more coverage than that. Given the penguin choice, I'd rather do one longer shift than two shorter shifts.
Have penguin fun with the penguin Master Modding Schedule, hope it's not too penguin difficult to put this penguin all together, and penguin thanks for all your penguin work!
