Round 9 Ends
Sun, Jun. 6th, 2010 05:08 pmThis was a great round. Five new people randomly showed up in the same weekend, which was great, plus lots of you regulars who I've enjoyed hanging out with every month were around again. All the activity made it really easy to be all enthusiastic cheerleader!mod this time. :D
lullabymoon not only took over the second night for me, but miraculously appeared on the first night just as I decided that no, staying up all night probably wasn't a good plan. Many thanks for that!
The comments of this post are for bragging. Talk about how much awesome fic you wrote this weekend. That's also a good place for any suggestions, feedback, etc. that you might have.
If you've got something finished and posted, there's a fic gallery where I collect links. (The fic gallery is totally optional. It just makes me feel useful as a mod. :) )
And finally, the Round 10 poll. This poll is open to anyone who might participate next month, whether you've ever participated before then or not.
A note about choosing the 3rd & 4th: in the US, where the 4th of July is a holiday, fic_rush will end from 5PM to 8PM on the 4th depending on your timezone. If your celebrations start and end with going to the nearest city to watch the fireworks, that's just barely doable. Unless it wins by a lot of votes, I'm unlikely to choose that weekend.

"Hey! Get back in line, you whippersnapper!"
"Who are you calling a whippersnapper? I'm older than you are, you know."
"Hmph! And don't try to change the subject either!"
Jo and Barbara together: "Now, boys!"
Ian: "What? What did I do now?")

Date: 2010-06-07 06:45 am (UTC)Bad Three for stealing your One muse! Slap him and tell him that next time you do a Three era fic, it will only have the Master and the Brigadier and they'll both be unflattering about his nose.
Heh, I'm sure whatever you write will be lovely - I look forward to it!

Date: 2010-06-07 11:19 am (UTC)Not that they were unflattering about his nose. Why his nose, btw? I like his nose.
*has sudden extremely random plot bunny where a certain size/shape of hand is terribly necessary for Plotty Reasons, and neither Three's big square hands nor the Brig's narrow "lady's hands" will do*
*does not go off to check the size of Delgado!Master's hands before finishing essay*

Date: 2010-06-07 04:55 pm (UTC)And Mr Pertwee was rather sensitive about his nose - it's a standing joke, to the point where he's described in The Time Warrior as a "long-shanked rascal with a mighty nose!" and one of Four's first comments on his appearance is: "the nose is a definite improvement!" :-)
That sounds... random. Like Cinders, only with gloves/fingerprints or something? Um. Does the Brig have narrow lady's hands? 8-o

Date: 2010-06-07 05:32 pm (UTC)(The "lady's hand" thing was an absent-minded reference to James Herriot's veterinarian stories, where he was good at birthing lambs because he had small hands which the farmers would call "lady's hands" for a joke. I guess it does make for a rather startling image with reference to the Brigadier!)
