A reminder: We're doing a half-round this coming weekend, after the US members have recovered from their turkey comas or returned home after resisting the urge to throttle annoying members of their birth families. [Poll #1797355]

This is a tentative schedule for the mini-round next weekend, based on the people who said, in the poll, that they'd be willing to mod. We're doing this extra roundlet for two reasons: it's November and some of us want to spend part of Thanksgiving weekend writing, either in spite of or because of Thanksgiving; and it's November and some of us are going to be frantically working on NaNo or some other WriMo.

For everyone who can't be around: have a lovely weekend, and we'll see you in December!

Based on what I have, I've set up a 24-hour roundlet to run from 5 pm GMT Saturday, November 26th to ~~5 pm~~ 8 pm GMT Sunday, November 27th. If more people are interested, we can expand a bit and run later on Sunday. I'd be very interested in a volunteer who could start at noon or 1 pm GMT Sunday and do 2-4 hours. Let me know if anyone's interested!

It was a bit quiet for one of our rounds (relatively speaking), but a lot of writing (and editing and posting) got done. We defied the Time Chicken, and it was delicious, and I'll eventually figure out how to get the alien fish out of my bathtub. I hope.

Another fine round!

In between the hypnotic giraffes bent on global domination through brainwashing, the purple zombie werewolves, and the glowing, freshly laundered penguins, we had plot handwavium, tea, sugar, gifs, glowsticks, glow that stuck, incoherent blood on the walls, bacon, and cheese. We had some new faces turn up, discussions of grammar that did not end in bloodshed, and lots of writing and editing and writing and outlining and writing and beta reading and writing and revising and writing and researching and writing!

So post here and brag about your accomplishments! The writing-related ones, that is. If you're an accomplished knitter or postcard artist, there are other forums to post about that.

Wow, that was one hell of a round -- especially since it started with two mods fresh out of hospital, myself being one of them. Plus some mods and several members sick, and a couple injured.

I'm always grateful to the Mod Squad, but even more so this weekend, since I was in no condition to post until the very end. In particular, the Official Junta,

dbskyler and

idlewild_, and the Unofficial Junta,

pitry and

chibifukurou. Plus

lullabymoon and

isdon_isgood9. That's right: we did the round with only six mods actually standing. Wow, folks. You are amazing.

And not only did we have much writing, editing, revising, research, and witty banter, we also had faster-than-light Rescue Penguins, alpha readers, ducks and chickens, flamingos, cake, cookies, and chocolate, all on this temporally inverted round. And ponies!

So brag about your exploits here, and be sure to check back later this month -- or maybe it was earlier last month -- whatever -- so we can decide when we're going to do all of this again! (Hopefully minus the heavy bleeding and the savage viruses and wrenched knees and all that.)
