Round 27 is over!
Sun, Mar. 25th, 2012 08:00 pmWow, there was a lot of activity during this round! In spite of the UK only getting 47 hours. Accordingly, after numerous attempts at cloning existing hours, we have launched an Extra Special Make-up Hour, to be used at your convenience. We will provide aardvarks and cookies, and install a giraffe-proof fence.
So how didja do? Post here and tell us your accomplishments!
Remember to thank the Mod Squad, without whom this comm Would Not Be:
welfycat,
isdon_isgood9,
lullabymoon,
pitry,
lothithil,
chibifukurou,
idlewild_, and myself! In particular, welcome back to
idlewild_ after her dreary job-driven absence from modding!

Round 27 Mod Squad schedule
Wed, Mar. 21st, 2012 11:38 pmLet me know if you need your shifts tweaked, or if I have forgotten your availability or lack thereof! Worth noting:
The USA and Canada are now on Daylight Savings Time.
The UK goes on DST on Sunday.
Australia is still on DST, but goes off it the next weekend.
Israel is not on DST, but goes onto it the next weekend. Israel, do wave hi to Australia as you pass each other in the temporal vortex, won’t you?
The UK wears ablue flowered hat, lives in a wooden house bed-sit, and likes waffles curry. The Pacific Coast wears green sneakers, lives next door to the yellow submarine, and drinks coffee . . . oh, wait, that's a different kind of maddeningly obscure puzzle.
Also, Chibi is bringing cookies.

Final smackdown voting: Round 27
Tue, Mar. 20th, 2012 02:00 pmYep, another poll, to make a final decision about March.[Poll #1820360]

Round 26 will be on February 25th and 26th!
Mon, Mar. 12th, 2012 11:00 pmThe
fic_rush Hive-Mind has Spoken, in favour of having Round 26 on the last weekend of February, the 25th and 26th. We shall Make It So.
Mod Squad, please let me know if the following schedule will work for you. In particular,
pitry, will you be able to do two shifts as shown?
( Cut for length and bonsai giraffes )

Round 26 is over!
Sun, Feb. 26th, 2012 07:00 pmDespite nemeses, bonsai giraffes, plotholes, and improbable (and possibly inappropriate) uses for crochet hooks, much fic has been written! Post here and brag about it!
As always, many many thanks to the mods (most of whom did a double shift this time around!):
dbskyler,
welfycat,
isdon_isgood9,
lullabymoon,
pitry, and
lothithil! I'm so glad we have so many wonderful people covering the 'Rush -- this absolutely could not happen without you.
If you haven't already, please vote in the Sudden Death Smackdown Poll for Round 27.

Round 26 Modding Schedule (revised)
Wed, Feb. 22nd, 2012 11:00 pmOkay, after much fussing and tweaking, I think this will work. If it will not, pipe up in the comments!
One caveat: I haven't heard from
glinda_penguin as to whether she'll be around, so her shift may not actually be covered. Anyone willing to keep an eye on that part of the round, please speak up! Also,
lost_spook has offered to be Emergency Backup Stunt Mod. \o/
Cut for length, and has anyone seen the bonsai giraffes?
( They seem to have escaped . . . )

February Fail?
Sat, Feb. 11th, 2012 02:00 pmWell, between work and being sick, February has done a fine job of messing up my writing schedule. How about yours? Not only did I not get a poll up before this: I am only available for the weekend of February 25th and 26th. (I'm going to be at an out of town conference next weekend.)
So here's the Burning Question:

Round 25 is over!
Sun, Jan. 29th, 2012 07:00 pmBy Special Directive from
dbskyler, this was
fic_rush. And many, many things were accomplished! Vaults were breached, sonic screwdrivers borrowed (and returned), maniacal laughter was stolen (and replaced), cells were escaped from, alien fish were tracked to their original waterfall, bonsai giraffes were planted, nemeses were nemesistic, plot tentacles were detected in previously empty lakes, laundry and dishes were done (maniacally), coffee and tea and chocolate and cake were consumed. It's been a busy time!
Also, fanvids and icons were made. Fic was written and edited and planned and plotted and prompted and finished and continued and begun. TV and DVDs were watched! Very successfully! Meals were eaten! Naps were taken with amazing success! In the Sleeping Olympics, I'm confident that our team would WIN.
So post here and celebrate. Brag and proclaim. And be sure to thank the Mod Squad:
dbskyler,
lothithil,
pitry,
chibifukurou,
lullabymoon, and especially
welfycat (who modded even though she was sick),
glinda_penguin (who modded even though she was sick and also not even on the schedule), and most of all
isdon_isgood9, who did her TWO shifts even though she’s badly whumped and on painkillers, and deserves a medal.
And I’m your host,
lolmac, and this has been great.
Be sure to watch the comm for the next poll to pick our next weekend! In fact, watch the comm regardless. It's tricksy and you never know what it's going to do next.

Round 25 has started! Or has it?
Fri, Jan. 27th, 2012 04:09 pmHi there! I'm
dbskyler, and I get to start things off this round! Yes, believe it or not, I have the power to declare fic_rush started!
Or, not to declare it started. Muah-ha-ha!
But of course I wouldn't abuse my Power of Starting the Round to do anything silly. Oh, no. Although I can't help noticing that fic_rush cannot actually start until I say that it can.
But, I'm a very reasonable person. It's just that unless I allow it, there will be no fic_rush.
Click the link for my list of demands: http://fic-rush-48.livejournal.com/303610.html
Oh no, wait, that was the wrong link! That's the link to the round! Wait! No! Don't click on it! Arrrghhhhh!
Foiled by html . . .

Round 25 Mod Squad schedule
Tue, Jan. 24th, 2012 09:35 pmRound 25 will be this weekend.
And Now For Something Completely (or Slightly) Different:
dbskyler will be starting the 'Rush, because I have a conflict (in addition to my usual Horrid Commute).
idlewild_ will be on sabbatical for this round and probably the next. Be nice to her when she manages to pop up in the watches.
Let me know if you're likely to have any problems with your shift! I had to juggle things a bit.

Round 24 is over!
Sun, Dec. 18th, 2011 07:00 pmThis was the Round with the Misplaced Mods; possibly the cookies were to blame, or the UnWriterly pasta, or the eggnog and hot chocolate and tea and coffee, which did not quite reach the point of an Epic Battle for Dominance.
Nonetheless, many many words were written and edited and beta'd, and some were even posted! Inspiration struck some and pulled a hit-and-run from others. Scenes were blocked, and in some cases, writers were unblocked. Plots were outlined. Plots were plotted.
How did you do? Tell us all about it!
Please take a moment to thank the Mod Squad, especially
lullabymoon, who stepped in and covered an extra, very long shift, rather later than the last minute. We all did a lot of pass-the-baton modding, in fact, and I'm even happier than usual about what a terrific job everyone does. Thank you,
pitry,
isdon_isgood9,
chibifukurou and
lothithil, and a particular thanks and welcome to
welfycat, the newest Baby Mod of our Band!
Please keep an eye on the comm, and watch for the January poll. And have a good round of any holidays you care to celebrate! Especially International Penguin Day!
