Actually, we already have a lot of good mods, but we're greedy. We want more!!

Interested in modding? Possibly interested? Vaguely tempted? Open to bribery? We offer pretentious titles, virtual cookies, and a monthly shot at galactic domination.

Several of our regular mods now have other things happening in RL -- school, job changes, outside commitments, expanding social lives, possibly (for all we know) even Secret Missions full of Derring-Do (or Derring-Don't). The more people we have available to mod, the better it is for all of us -- the last thing we want to see is someone burning out on a fun activity because they feel obligated to it.

So, if you've never modded but would like to try, or if you've never thought of modding but are susceptible to flattery, cajolement, and bribes, or are unsure about it but sufficiently intrigued to speak up, now is the time!

On the Round 57 poll, at present, the weekend of October 25th and 26th is showing a healthy lead.

There's a problem with that: I will be out of town that weekend, and I will not be able to organize or participate in a round at that time. (My birthday is on Friday, and we're going to run away from home for a couple of days.)

So, with that in mind: if you really do prefer that weekend, it comes with the added requirement that someone else will have to run it. If, based on this, you want to change your vote, you can do so (and it would actually be a good idea).

This was a very quiet round, although we had at least one fine new face, and some writing and icons and projects accomplished.

The slow pace is mostly due to my own sluggishness: I have not been doing well at getting polls up early, and this month was especially bad. I'm incredibly delighted to announce that we now have a Master Pollmeister,

sara_lakali, who will be posting the polls for the new rounds. I will still be making the final decisions on the weekend and doing the schedules, and with her help I'm looking forward to being less tardy for future rounds! Yay

We made it! 72 hours and about as many shapes later, the amorphous round 55 is over! Do tell us of your deeds this round!

Also, please remember to thank the Mod Squad for their tireless usurpations this round! According to Beth's count (plus my final three posts), the mods accomplished the following number of usurpations:

Round 55 is starting! Grab your ray-guns, summon your minions, and meet us over on the 48 comm for the Grand Battle for Galactic Domination!!

Round 55, the Grand Usurpation Round, begins tomorrow at 8 pm EDT, midnight GMT, and goes for 72 hours or until the aliens go home.

At present, only the following hours are claimed:

Hours 18-20, 42-45, and 66-69 (noon-3 pm CDT all three days)

isdon_isgood9:
Hours 31-33 (6-8 pm Sunday Sydney time)

I will start the round, and I'll probably end it, and make a bunch more posts somewhere in between.

If you want to claim hours at this time, say something in the comments; otherwise, get ready to Usurp!!

Okaaay, so this coming weekend, we're going to have -- not exactly a round, but something big and blobby that might or might not roll if placed on a slope.

I'll slap together something remotely resembling a schedule, and we'll start at midnight GMT and go on for 72 hours, or until we fall over, whichever comes first.

If you're interested in having an actual mod shift during the round, or more than one, reply to this post and say when -- I figure we can do first come, first dibs. If someone else has claimed a slot you really wanted, you can reply to their comment and ~~bribe them~~ ask them nicely about swapping for some other time.

Other than that, I figure it's Usurpation For All!

Holding an August round is not looking promising: many of the mods are unavailable, not to mention the fact that I didn't get around to putting up a poll until way late.

The only option I see is to have a general free-for-all during the final weekend -- which is a holiday weekend here in the US, so we can have Rampant Usurpation for 72 hours if we like. Basically, we can start with a rough schedule and allow anyone to jump into the gaps at will, or we can be entirely schedule-free and just bang away until we're done. Or we can do September instead.

Round 54 is over! Much fic was made, flags were planted, cookies were eaten, diverse critters were sighted (but none were cited, although the goats did get off with a warning), vegetables were used in dubious theatrical productions, and we're reasonably certain that no cucumbers were harmed, or at least only mildly traumatized.

We had some new faces and much cheeriness, so tell us all about what you accomplished this weekend!
